My Story

My journey has been anything but ordinary. Through every step, I've focused on staying true to my intuition and making thoughtful, lasting work.

Dana Neuenschwander

Dana Neuenschwander is a painter based in the Missouri Ozarks whose work explores the connection between place, memory, and daily life. Her paintings draw from the landscapes, waterways, and neighborhoods of southwest Missouri, capturing quiet moments through shifts in light, color, and atmosphere. From ridge lines and riverbanks to city streets and seasonal changes, her work reflects a deep connection to the rhythms and character of the region.
Before focusing on her current regionalist work, Dana built a career as an automotive airbrush artist, earning recognition for her custom-painted motorcycles at national shows including the Rat’s Hole Custom Bike Show at Sturgis and Daytona Bike Week. Her work has been featured on the television series American Thunder, as well as in numerous magazines, and she has created commissioned pieces for notable clients including John Paul DeJoria of Paul Mitchell and Patrón Tequila, and the St. Louis Blues hockey team. This experience continues to inform her approach to surface, color, and craftsmanship in her fine art practice.
Dana holds a Master of Liberal Studies in Art from Fort Hays State University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from Drury University, and an Associate of Science in Studio Art from Drury University. Alongside her studio practice, she is an educator at Ozarks Technical Community College and is deeply invested in building and supporting the local arts community. She is a co-founder of the women’s art group Nevertheless, She Persisted and is represented by Lucid TLC Art Studio and Gallery, where she teaches and collaborates with other artists, fostering connection, shared growth, and creative exchange within the region.
Through both her paintings and her teaching, Dana is committed to fostering observation, creativity, and a sense of place, inviting others to slow down and see the familiar in new ways.
